DESCRIPTION:
Here, the northern part of the town’s defensive wall was revealed. During the 13th century BC (the earliest phase of the town), this wall was made of mudbricks and stone-built bastions. Around 1200 BC when the entire area was redesigned on an ambitious architectural scale, a stronger fortification wall was constructed. This wall (its remains shown in red colour) consisted of two rows of huge stone blocks, which formed its external faces. Mudbrick was used for the upper part of the construction.
