DESCRIPTION:
The Pafos Gate dates to the 1st century AD. It served the visitors who approached the sanctuary from the west. It consists of a paved area with a gate (propylaeum) with two marble columns.
To the left of the gate, a wide stairway leads to the partially preserved Northwest Building.
The Northwest Building was divided into two oblong chambers, each comprising a central aisle flanked by raised platforms and separated by it by colonnades in the Doric order. This building may have been used for the display of offerings.
