DESCRIPTION:

The entrance to the later village is a complex structure that reveals an extraordinary mastery of engineering. It is designed to control access to the village: a stairway invisible from outside, a narrow tortuous pathway and an imposing building located 2 meters from the entrance, which restricts direct access.

Both the early and the later entrances are situated at the top of the hill. This particular spot permitted access to a zone of the village which might have played a central role in the life of the community. It was also the point from which it is easiest to get from the village to the nearby hills.
